Dr. Russell Gornichec, MD of Weight Loss Center of Arkansas an Laser Solutions Medical Spa in Hot Springs, AR

Dr. Russell Gornichec is a retired surgeon with a specialty in weight loss and aesthetics. Twenty years of surgical weight loss experience has given Dr. Gornichec a unique perspective on what can be utilized for successful weight loss. He continues to provide ongoing aftercare for all surgical weight loss patients to include nutritional assessment, Lap-Band adjustments and with special attention to avoid weight regain. Currently he has decided to concentrate his efforts on medically supervised weight loss using an individualized approach for both new patients and those surgical weight loss patients that have regained preoperative weight.

Dr. Gornichec has always been at the leading edge of surgical intervention for obesity. In 2003, he performed the first laparoscopic gastric bypass in Edmond, Oklahoma and in 2010 he performed the first robotically assisted weight loss surgery in Oklahoma. He then moved his practice to Arkansas and Indiana. Now he has returned to Hot Springs, Arkansas to concentrate on a non-surgical career providing weight loss, laser skin therapy, cosmetic aesthetics and Body sculpting techniques.

Dr. Gornichec has been providing neuromodulator injections using Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport products for some time now. He is also fully trained to provide dermal filler applications to give patients a more youthful appearance should they desire. If patients have experienced a diminished response to neuromodulator injections or simply wish to avoid this approach he can explain many of the newer non-surgical skin rejuvenation techniques to address fine lines and wrinkles. These techniques utilize radio frequency applications that have shown to increase collagen in the underlying dermal region and may provide the benefits of fat reduction, skin tightening and skin rejuvenation without the need for repetitive expensive invasive products. There are multiple options to address aesthetic needs and everyone should discuss the various techniques with an unbiased provider before deciding their best course of actions. Our clinic may not offer all the techniques available but can help someone make an informed decision and possibly refer a patient to another provider should that be in the best interest of the individual.

Education

Dr. Gornichec attended Medical School at the University of Texas, Southwestern – Dallas, Texas, graduating in 1994. His residency was completed at Baylor University Medical Center, also in Dallas, Texas in 1999.
