Acne Intervention

Both ACNE scarring and active infection/lesions can be addressed with laser therapy. The pricing of this treatment has dropped dramatically over the last few years making this a viable option for treatment of small or large active ACNE regions of the body. A short wavelength filter is used to concentrate on the porphyrin molecule to eradicate the lesion and reduce the chance of recurrence. Almost immediate results in reduction of lesions and their sensitivities are seen. Treatment session can be increased in frequency to give a faster eradication of active lesions and maintenance session every 3-5 months can help keep recurrence percentage low. In addition once active lesions resolve, sometimes individuals can be left with the dimpled scarring appearance known as ACNE scarring. This can also be dramatically reduced using combination of laser and RF energies to promote skin smoothness and skin discoloration. Individuals no longer need to accept the skin altering effects of ACNE with these options available.

Stretch Marks

If unsightly skin marks referred to as stretch marks have been preventing you from wearing that more revealing swim suit in the summer months than RF and Laser technologies may be the answer you have been waiting for. Over the years these lesions have been difficult to address without surgical intervention. Combining these two modalities can lead to better softening and minimalization of many of these types of lesions. Small scars and “stretch marks” can be smoothed and lessened dramatically, making wearing a bathing suit or sleeveless shirt more anxiety free for many individuals.

Still have questions?

See some of our most frequently asked questions:

  • Which laser is best for pigmentation?

A  Nd:YAG Laser is the most effective of laser treatment of hyperpigmentation. This modality can be painful and has higher risk of burns and blistering in patients. Use of diode or IPL therapy may be sufficient and less painful alternative for some patients.

  • Does the laser treatment work permanently for pigmentation?

While most will see results after one treatment, some patients may need additional treatments based on the size and depth of the area to be treated. Again, these results, once achieved, are usually permanent. Please remember that sun exposure to the same area can lead to other skin pigmentations in the same area.

  • What is the best treatment for vascular lesions?

Laser therapy is most effective in treating lesions when they are lighter in color. Early treatment can also help to prevent some of the skin texture changes by slowing the progression of the lesion.

  • Who Is a Good Candidate for Laser Skin Resurfacing?

If you have fine lines or wrinkles around your eyes or mouth or on your forehead, shallow scars from acne, or non-responsive skin after a facelift, then you may be a good candidate for laser skin resurfacing. You may also be a good candidate if you have poor skin tone and complexion. Some resurfacing modalities can be more powerful than others. Make sure to talk with the provider about how painful the procedure is and what is the downtime. Exfoliating laser resurfacing should be quick, painless and without downtime.

  • Can you get laser treatment with active acne?

When the condition is aggressive, repeated and overlapping outbreaks can cause acne scars. These can add pits and red discoloration that persists long after outbreaks subside. Lasers have been shown as a treatment for both active acne outbreaks and residual acne scars.

  • Is laser treatment better than Accutane?

While Accutane is undoubtedly effective, it can come with potential side effects and requires a substantial commitment. Laser offers a compelling alternative, particularly for those who wish to avoid the systemic nature of Accutane and its associated side effects.

  • Does laser removal help with stretch marks?

Lasers are the most innovative stretch mark removal methods brought about by clinical research from professionals & experts around the globe. They are much more effective than older micro-needling technology that does not utilize radiofrequency. Lasers improve the texture & color of stretch marks, gradually fading them with each treatment. This is a less painful modality than injections or surgical revision but results may not be permanent.
